We were delighted to welcome the Mayor of Seoul, Oh Se-hoon and members of the Seoul Metropolitan Government to our studios at the start of the week.
It was so interesting to hear more about the future vision and urban design innovations planned for his city, particularly the renaissance of the Han River and the creation of greener city spaces.
Partner, John McElgunn presented Oh Se-hoon with an insight into our approach to urban development, demonstrated in RSHP buildings located in dense London locations with significant public realm. He also presented our well-known international master plans for Montparnasse, Madrid, and Barangaroo.
The presentation finished with a project familiar to the Mayor, Parc 1 in Seoul, to demonstrate how to build at the mass required of a city centre, and still achieve a human street scale.
The visit included a tour of the RSHP studio, the architecture of the Leadenhall Building, its public realm and the network of public places around Bishopsgate.
