RSHP’s International Towers Sydney shortlisted for CTBUH awards

The event, which will take place in Chicago on 31 May 2018, showcases the best urban design from around the world. The winner of the Best Tall Building regional prize will go on to be shortlisted for the international prize.

The three towers form the anchor piece of RSHP’s Barangaroo south masterplan, weaving organically into the existing CBD’s rich fabric and community. Workers and locals enjoy the wide variety of shops and restaurants available in the district, and the streets are fully pedestrianised to create a welcoming atmosphere.

The towers have received the prestigious 6 star “Green Star Office Design” v3 rating from the Green Building Council of Australia, highlighting the success of the range of advanced sustainability techniques employed. The buildings are also designed for employee wellbeing, encouraging social interaction and providing a layout which maximises views out and light in.

The vertical fins provide the buildings with their distinct, individual identities, and also help prevent solar gain. Day-lit lift lobbies, panoramic prows, 100% fresh air, 2.9m high ceilings, and large open vertical spaces throughout the buildings all combine to promote a state-of-the-art workplace.

The design of the urban fabric surrounding International Towers was as important as the buildings themselves, and they are intimately woven together into the fabric of the local area. I believe that being shortlisted for this award highlights the value that good design can add to a new development for everyone who engages with it, living or working locally.”

The towers were developed by LendLease, and two of the three towers are now owned by Jones Lang LaSalle.
