Graham Stirk on jury for new Thames crossing

05 February 2015

RSHP Partner Graham Stirk will sit on the competition jury for a new Thames crossing at Nine Elms in south London.

A total of 80 design teams have qualified to participate in the design contest for the £40 million pedestrian and cyclist crossing. Each participating team will submit its initial design idea for an anonymous public exhibition, based on which the panel will then shortlist four submissions. Other confirmed panel members include Wandsworth Council leader Ravi Govindia, engineer Henry Bardsley and CABE chair Pam Alexander.

The new pedestrian and cycle bridge will connect the 200 hectare former Nine Elms industrial area – which is undergoing massive regeneration, including RSHP’s Riverlight housing development – with the historic Pimlico embankment to the north.
